Arrange, the customizable information manager, is a radically new approach to managing information. Arrange combines the practical features of a PIM with the flexibility and extensibility of a database.
This demo package contains all that you need to learn about Arrange. It includes:
- The Arrange 2.0 demo application (that does not print or save).
- The Grabber™ system extensions.
- Sample Files.
- The Arrange 2.0 Tutorial including the Getting Started documentation (in Microsoft™ Word format) and the Getting Started practice files.
• Installing the Arrange 2.0 demo
Drag the Grabber Settings control panel and the Arrange Backgrounder system extension from the Grabber™ Stuff folder to your system folder. Then restart your Macintosh.
• The Arrange 2.0 Tutorial
To begin the tutorial, start with the "Welcome" file in the Getting Started Doc folder and go from there.
• New Features in Arrange 2.0
Arrange 2.0 adds a host of exciting features, many of which were specifically asked for by our users. Some of the new features are:
- Advanced calendar functionality including repeating events, untimed events, automatic carry-forward events, multiple event types on the calendar with icons, and universal alarms.
- A complete, full-featured forms editor for custom layout of information, graphics, and linked items. Supports field, shape, color, pattern, text, and picture element types. Tools include grouping, locking, aligning, reordering, moving, distributing, setting tab order, gridding, etc.
- Vastly enhanced printing including true scaling, rotation, attractive calendar formats, date ranges, tables, organizer book pages, Avery™ labels, custom labels, and envelopes.
- More powerful filtering and sorting.
- Support for Arrange plug-ins, which are extension files that add new functionality to Arrange.
- Performance enhancements to many areas of Arrange.
• Plug-ins included with Arrange 2.0
Arrange 2.0 includes three plug-ins:
- Intelligent phone dialing.
- Auto-completion for pop-up fields.
- A Select Subnotes command.
Plug-in files appear in the Plug-ins folder, which is located in the Arrange 2.0 Demo folder. Use the About Plug-ins command in the Apple menu to learn more about the plug-ins that came with the Arrange 2.0 demo.
• The Arrange Registered Developer Program
Common Knowledge announces the Arrange Registered Developer Program. This program allows third-parties to develop plug-in extension modules for Arrange.
With its new open architecture, Arrange is the perfect platform for developing customized information management solutions. These include client/front-ends to relational database servers, vertical information management solutions, remote connectivity, integration with e-mail, group scheduling, and office automation systems, etc.
